Accuracy and Disclaimer

Use the results, but check them

BestSpinWheel is built to be accurate and is tested against known reference values. It is still software written by people, running in a browser we do not control, on input we cannot see. Treat every result as a well-informed starting point rather than an authority.

Before you rely on a result for anything that matters — money owed to someone, a legal or tax position, a medical decision, a machined part, a navigational fix — check it against a second source.

Specific limits of this site

The winner is chosen with your browser's built-in random number generator. That is appropriate for a classroom, a team split or a giveaway, and it is not cryptographically secure. Do not use this site where an adversary has a reason and an opportunity to predict or influence the outcome.

A spin is not a record. Nothing about a draw is logged, stored or transmitted, so the site cannot afterwards confirm that a particular draw happened or who won it. If a draw needs to be defensible later, record the screen and keep the entrant list yourself.

A raffle or prize draw where money changed hands is frequently a regulated lottery, and the rules differ by country and by US state — several prohibit private raffles outright. Spinning a wheel satisfies none of those requirements and is not evidence of compliance.

Weights change the odds and the site applies exactly the weights it is given. A mistyped weight silently produces an unfair draw that looks completely normal, so check the slice widths against what you intended before spinning in front of anybody.

With winner removal switched off, every spin is independent and the same entry can win twice in a row. That is correct behaviour and it is very often not what the person spinning meant by "pick three names". Decide which you want before the first spin.

Team splits are random and nothing more. They do not balance ability, seniority, friendship groups or anything else, and a random split will sometimes produce a group that is obviously wrong for reasons only a person in the room can see.

Not professional advice

Nothing on this site is legal, regulatory or other professional advice, and using the random picker does not create a professional relationship of any kind. If a decision has real consequences, ask somebody qualified and accountable.

Liability

Our liability for the results this site produces is limited as described in the Terms of Service. In short: the site is free, it is provided as-is, and we cannot accept responsibility for losses caused by relying on it without checking.
